PROTEIN RICH FOOD

A hot lunch of rice cooked with dhal, vegetables, oil and condiments is provided to the children of age from two to five plus years.


Regular Training


Training is a key element for improving and maintaining the quality of performance of the project personnel at all levels. Better equipped staff will be more effective in Community based strategies which need to focus on the community which is the ultimate link in the training chain. Correspondingly training has been geared up towards improving the knowledge, Skills and capabilities of all functionaries specially frontline workers so that they are not only better "service providers" but also mobilizes of community towards desirable behavioural change.

The aim of the training is to develop all the field functionaries of ICDS into "Agents of Social Change" instead of simply reacting to the situation and to bring about behavioural change in the community.

A comprehensive training strategy has been planned focusing towards the holistic development of the project beneficiaries to help in achieving the objectives of the of the ICDS programme.

DECENTRALISED PATTERN OF TRAINING:

Tamil Nadu has an unique decentralized pattern of training system,percolated from Block/Project level to grass root level and vice versa.Every Project/Block has a Trainer.The training at block level is conducted by a team of Trainers i.e Block Training Team – BTT coprising of ICDS Trainer(Gr.I Supervisor),Block E E(BEE),Block H S(BHS) and Child Health Nurse from Health and Family Welfare Department.These trainers are competent enough to handle training to the grass root level functioneries.

TRIANING - REGULAR -JOB TRAINING AND REFRESHER TRAINING

* The Job / Orientation training was given to the project functionaries as soon as they join the job.

* The refresher training was given to the project functionaries after they have completed their Job Trainings.

* The job training for field functionaries are conducted after the steps in curriculum development were done.

The steps in curriculum development are

  • 1. job function analysis
  • 2. Task analysis - task to be performed at field level to fulfill their job functions
  • 3. Student performance during training
  • 4. knowledge, skill and attitude required

* The Job and Refresher Training for field functionaries is conducted by incorporating the training need , area specific and State specific need in the prescribed syllabus given by the GOI.
